South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands is one of the world’s most remarkable and remote places. One of the UK’s overseas territories, it sits at the intersection of global environmental stewardship, international diplomacy, sustainable economic management and complex remote operations. The Government is responsible for the governance, protection, and sustainable management of the territory, working with a range of critical partners.
We are seeking our next Chief Executive Officer to lead the Government's operational activity and partner with the Commissioner on the future strategy for the territory. This is a complex, mission‑driven organisation responsible for globally recognised sustainable fisheries, a vast Marine Protected Area, and major operational and infrastructure programmes.
